More than a coffee shop, a second home.
“We wanted Braşov to have a place where strangers feel like regulars before they finish their first cup.” — Coffee Tales, 1995
Coffee Tales started in 1995 with a second-hand drum roaster, a small space on Strada Școlii, and a shared conviction that Braşov deserved a café where coffee was taken seriously and time moved a little slower.
Three decades later, we still roast every morning before opening and serve every cup with the same unhurried care. The original drum roaster still hangs on the back wall.
Coffee is a small thing. The way you serve it isn't.
We believe a café is a public living-room: a place where strangers become regulars, regulars become friends, and the price of staying an extra hour is just another cup. Every bean is direct-trade; every song on the speakers comes from someone playing a Tuesday open-mic.
The first cup
Coffee Tales opens in a small space on Strada Școlii — a drum roaster, three bean origins, and a quiet vision.
Going direct-trade
We move to 100% directly-sourced organic beans from Colombia and Ethiopia.
An award we didn't expect
Our Signature Blend wins the National Coffee Roasters Championship.
A community hub
Over 1,000 cups a day, an open-mic on Tuesdays, and the same recipe as 1995.
